Prison Ministry

Beyond the Walls is a ministry of service by women for women who are held in the San Francisco County Jail. Members have participated in special religious services - a revival which was held during Holy Week and a Thanksgiving service. The primary focus of the ministry is the Mentorship Program whereby those who are interested commit to visiting the jail the first and third Thursday each month.

The purpose of the visits is to bring the light of God’s love and the promise of hope to those whose lives have been challenging on many levels. We seek to be a source of support and hope as the women transition from custody to freedom.

Currently there are 25 women who have made a commitment to working in this area in some way.

Hours: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.
